Takayama Municipal Takayama Junior High School, Grade 8

Second-year students at Takayama Junior High School in Takayama-mura, Nagano undertook an inquiry-based learning project to explore the Shiga Highland Biosphere Reserve, a local treasure and source of pride. They studied the structure and philosophy of the biosphere reserve and reflected on how their daily lives relate to environmental conservation.

Through hands-on experiences in the field, they deepened their understanding of how nature and human activity can coexist sustainably.
