A variety of organisms live in and coexist in the Akaya Forest, which is located on the border between Gunma and Niigata. Biodiversity is conserved in an area where the golden eagle, an umbrella species, is the leader of the ecosystem. We investigated what efforts are being made and what we can do to conserve biodiversity. We also considered the use of wood (golden eagle wood) obtained from thinning to secure hunting grounds for golden eagles.
